Am 11.9.1973, vor 50 Jahren putschte das Militär brutal gegen die gewählte Regierung von Salvador Allende. Ich bin kein Freund von linken Regierungen und es war die Zeit des kalten Krieges, aber niemals rechtfertigt das eine Diktatur. Und schon gar nicht diese Brutalität.
Chile ist ein schönes Land mit einer sehr spannenden Geografie, einer tollen Natur und vor allem haben wir so viele liebe und nette Menschen kennengelernt.
Aber es ist auch ein zerrissenes Land, wie fast alle Länder auf diesem Kontinent.
Es fehlt die Mitte, der Wille zu einem Kompromiss und das zu sehen tut fast schon körperlich weh. Weil dadurch sich nichts bewegt, es kein Vorwärts gibt, sondern erst einmal dagegen. Der Kampf um eine neue Verfassung zeigt, wie kompromisslos die Lager sind. Es gibt viele Menschen, die lassen immer noch Pinochet hochleben und verschließen die Augen vor dem brutalen Terror seines Regimes. Und es gibt viele Menschen, die wollen alles auf einmal anders und verschrecken damit viele Menschen. Und so kommt man mit der Verfassung nicht voran, es bilden sich Gräben und keiner geht auf den anderen zu.
Es geht aber nur gemeinsam, die Probleme lassen sich nur gemeinsam lösen.
Wir haben uns auf die Erinnerungskultur in den verschiedenen Museen eingelassen und es ist bedrückend und einfach nur traurig zu sehen, was wir anrichten können. Ohne Rücksicht wurden Menschen einfach umgebracht und bis heute ist nicht alles aufgeklärt. Wie oft man im Museum aber auch auf Plätzen die Schilder „Vermisst“ sieht, es ist einfach schrecklich. Und es ist wie immer, die Täter können nicht zu Ihren Taten stehen.
Der aktuelle Präsident versucht einen Weg zu finden, so mein Eindruck. Obwohl dem linken Lager zugehörend, versucht er Wege zu finden, auch andere Lager zu Wort kommen zu lassen. Nur müssen diese Lager auch die Türen nutzen.
Nächste Woche ist der Nationalfeiertag. Spannend ist für mich, wie viele unterschiedliche Menschen mit unterschiedlichen Ansichten auf diesen Tag vorbereiten. Für uns in Deutschland ungewöhnlich, ist die Nation doch das verbindende. Das ist doch eine gute Ausgangssituation von der dieses Land sich weiterentwickeln kann.
Ich nehme viel von hier mit, vor allem aber, dass man nie mit dem Kopf durch die Wand kommt. So gut und/ oder berechtigt das Anliegen auch ist. Auch das müssen wir in Europa lernen, rechte wie linke, sonst zerstören wir alles und erreichen nichts.
El 11.9.1973, hace 50 años, los militares golpearon brutalmente al gobierno electo de Salvador Allende. No soy amigo de los gobiernos de izquierda y era la época de la guerra fría, pero eso nunca justifica una dictadura. Y desde luego no esta brutalidad.
Chile es un país hermoso, con una geografía apasionante, una gran naturaleza y, sobre todo, conocimos a mucha gente encantadora y simpática.
Pero también es un país desgarrado, como casi todos los países de este continente.
Le falta un centro, voluntad de compromiso, y ver eso casi duele físicamente. Porque no se mueve nada, no hay movimiento hacia delante, sino ante todo en contra. La lucha por una nueva Constitución demuestra lo intransigentes que son los campos. Hay mucha gente que todavía celebra a Pinochet y hace la vista gorda ante el terror brutal de su régimen. Y hay mucha gente que quiere que todo sea diferente de golpe, ahuyentando así a mucha gente. Y así no se avanza en la Constitución, se forman fisuras y nadie tiende la mano al otro.
Pero sólo se puede hacer juntos, los problemas sólo se pueden resolver juntos.
Nos implicamos en la cultura del recuerdo en los distintos museos y es deprimente y simplemente triste ver lo que podemos hacer. Sencillamente, se mató a gente sin consideración y, a día de hoy, aún no se ha aclarado todo. Cuántas veces se ven los carteles de "Desaparecidos" en el museo pero también en las plazas, es simplemente terrible. Y es como siempre, los autores no pueden defender sus actos.
El actual presidente intenta encontrar una salida, esa es mi impresión. Aunque pertenece al campo de la izquierda, está tratando de encontrar la manera de dejar que otros campos tengan la palabra. Pero estos campos también deben utilizar las puertas.
La semana que viene son las vacaciones bancarias. Lo que me resulta emocionante es la cantidad de personas con opiniones diferentes que se están preparando para este día. Inusualmente para nosotros en Alemania, la nación es el factor unificador. Es un buen punto de partida para el desarrollo de este país.
Me llevo muchas cosas de aquí, pero sobre todo que nunca se atraviesa el muro con la cabeza. Por muy buena y/o justificada que sea la preocupación. Eso tenemos que aprenderlo también en Europa, tanto la derecha como la izquierda, de lo contrario lo destruiremos todo y no conseguiremos nada.
On 11.9.1973, 50 years ago, the military brutally putsched against the elected government of Salvador Allende. I am not a friend of left-wing governments and it was the time of the cold war, but never does that justify a dictatorship. And certainly not this brutality.
Chile is a beautiful country with a very exciting geography, great nature and above all we met so many lovely and nice people.
But it is also a torn country, like almost all countries on this continent.
It lacks a centre, the will to compromise, and seeing that almost physically hurts. Because it doesn't move anything, there is no forward movement, but first of all against. The struggle for a new constitution shows how uncompromising the camps are. There are many people who still celebrate Pinochet and turn a blind eye to the brutal terror of his regime. And there are many people who want everything to be different all at once, thus scaring many people away. And so no progress is being made with the constitution, rifts are forming and no one is reaching out to the other.
But it can only be done together, the problems can only be solved together.
We got involved in the culture of remembrance in the various museums and it is depressing and simply sad to see what we can do. People were simply killed without consideration and to this day not everything has been cleared up. How often you see the signs "Missing" in the museum but also on squares, it is simply terrible. And it's like always, the perpetrators can't stand by their deeds.
The current president is trying to find a way, that's my impression. Although belonging to the left camp, he is trying to find ways to let other camps have their say. But these camps must also use the doors.
Next week is the bank holidays. What is exciting for me is how many different people with different views are preparing for this day. Unusually for us in Germany, the nation is the unifying factor. That's a good starting point from which this country can develop.
I take a lot with me from here, but above all that one never gets through the wall with one's head. As good and/or justified as the concern may be. We have to learn that in Europe, too, on the right and on the left, otherwise we will destroy everything and achieve nothing.
Es ist viel passiert seid wir wieder zu Hause sind. Gleich mal am Anfang, ich bin sehr gern jeden Tag wieder in unserem Haus, fühle mich sehr wohl und es ist schön den Luis vor der Tür zu haben. Auch wenn er momentan einer Generalüberholung unterzogen wird. Wir bekommen Besuch von unseren vielen neuen Freunden, sind aber auch immer wieder sehr gern mit unseren "alten" Freunden und der Familie zusammen. Die Wochenenden sind dadurch sehr voll, aber wir finden auch Zeit für uns. Beruflich tut der Schritt in die Selbstständigkeit sehr gut, es macht mit viel Spaß und die Projekte sind sehr spannend und die Kollegen sind sehr nett. Fehlt mir die Reise? Nein, weil sie ist immer dabei in meinem Kopf und durch die vielen Vorträge wird sie immer wieder aktuell. Und der Luis? na dann schaut mal auf seiner Seite vorbei. Der bekommt vieles neu, damit er uns noch viele Jahre ein treuer Gefährte sein kann. Bis zum nächsten Mal....
Montag, 01.01.2024 Jetzt ist auch noch das Jahr offiziell vorbei. Somit wird dies vermutlich mein letzter Eintrag zu unserer Reise sein? Oder möchtet Ihr weiter Berichte haben über unseren Seelenzustand nach so einer Auszeit? Ich bin mir gerade nicht sicher, wie es mir geht. Ich finde es schrecklich, dass alles zuhause sich schon wieder so normal anfühlt. Und die Reise sich fast wie ein Traum anfühlt. Eigentlich möchte ich die Reise noch ganz lange ganz festhalten! Was wir ja durch unsere Vorträge ein bisschen versuchen möchten. Die sind wir gerade am Vorbereiten. Und ansonsten hat uns dann jetzt ab Januar das Arbeitsleben wieder – mal sehen, wie das so wird und sich anfühlt! Ich habe eigentlich jetzt schon wieder Sehnsucht nach Südamerika! Wir kommen irgendwann wieder!!! ….. Lunes, 01.01.2024 - el nuevo año ha comenzado Ahora el año ha terminado oficialmente. ¿Así que esta será probablemente mi última entrada sobre nuestro viaje? ¿O queréis más informes sobre nuestro estado de ánimo después de tanto tiempo muerto? No estoy seguro de cómo me siento ahora. Me parece terrible que todo en casa vuelva a ser tan normal. Y el viaje casi parece un sueño. En realidad, quiero aferrarme al viaje durante mucho tiempo. Es lo que queremos intentar hacer un poco con nuestras conferencias. Actualmente las estamos preparando. Y aparte de eso, volveremos al trabajo en enero, ¡a ver cómo resulta y qué se siente! Ya tengo ganas de volver a Sudamérica. ¡¡¡Algún día volveremos!!! ..... Monday, 01.01.2024 - the new year has begun Now the year is officially over. So this will probably be my last entry about our trip? Or would you like further reports on our state of mind after such a time-out? I'm not sure how I feel right now. I find it terrible that everything at home already feels so normal again. And the trip almost feels like a dream. I actually want to hold on to the journey for a very long time! Which is what we want to try to do a little with our presentations. We're currently preparing them. And apart from that, we'll be back to work in January - let's see how that turns out and how it feels! I'm already longing for South America again! We'll be back one day!!! .....
Weihnachten 2023 Back at home – wir sind wieder zuhause! Der Flug war schrecklich – komplett voll – mit durchschütteln und dadurch nicht besonders gutem Service mit schrecklichem Flugzeug Essen. So furchtbar war fliegen schon lange nicht mehr für mich. Na hoffentlich ist das kein schlechtes Zeichen. Morgens mussten wir in Madrid noch umsteigen und in Frankfurt hat und dann Jan-Frederick mit Plakaten abgeholt. Das war sehr schön zuhause begrüßt und abgeholt zu werden – Vielen lieben Dank dafür!!! Dann ging es nach Hause – es ist schön wieder zu Hause zu sein – es fühlt sich allerdings schon alles wieder so normal an. Weihnachten waren dann am 24.12. alle bei uns und Annegret und Siegfried sind noch bis zum 28.12. geblieben. Es war ein sehr schönes Weihnachtsfest! Navidad 2023 De vuelta en casa - ¡estamos en casa otra vez! El vuelo fue terrible - completamente lleno - con temblores y por lo tanto no particularmente buen servicio con terrible comida de avión. Volar no ha sido tan horrible para mí desde hace mucho tiempo. Espero que no sea una mala señal. Por la mañana tuvimos que cambiar de avión en Madrid y en Frankfurt Jan-Frederick nos recogió con carteles. Fue muy agradable que nos dieran la bienvenida y nos recogieran - ¡¡¡muchas gracias por eso!!! Luego nos fuimos a casa - es agradable estar en casa otra vez - pero ya todo se siente tan normal otra vez. Todo el mundo estuvo con nosotros por Navidad el 24 de diciembre y Annegret y Siegfried se quedaron hasta el 28 de diciembre. ¡Fue una Navidad muy bonita! Christmas 2023 Back at home - we are home again! The flight was terrible - completely full - with shaking and therefore not particularly good service with terrible aeroplane food. Flying hasn't been this awful for me for a long time. I hope that's not a bad sign. In the morning we had to change planes in Madrid and in Frankfurt Jan-Frederick picked us up with posters. It was really nice to be welcomed home and picked up - thank you so much for that!!! Then we went home - it's nice to be home again - but everything already feels so normal again. Everyone was with us for Christmas on 24 December and Annegret and Siegfried stayed until 28 December. It was a very nice Christmas!
Sonntag, 10.12.2023 Jetzt heißt es für uns noch 5x schlafen und dann geht es ins Flugzeug nach Hause. Die Tage in Buenos Aires fliegen nur so dahin. Wir haben viele Museen besucht, auch das ESMA – was an die Militärdiktatur erinnert. Leider wird hier momentan wenig Geld reingesteckt, so dass man manche Gebäude und Areale dieser ehemaligen Militärschule nicht mehr betreten kann. Ansonsten kann man auf vielen Videobildschirmen die Gerichtsverhandlung und die Aussagen verfolgen. Ist ganz anders aufgebaut als z.B. in Santiago de Chile – aber ein sehr wichtiger Ort für die Auseinandersetzung dieser schrecklichen Zeit. Und es ist vollkommen egal von welcher Seite die Diktatur kommt – egal ob links oder rechts – das sollte nie wieder irgendwo passieren! Ist aber leider ein sehr frommer Wunsch. Und Nie Wieder ist auch ziemlich verbraucht und schnell dahingesagt! Buenos Aires hat bombastische Gebäude – unglaublich bombastisch ist das Teatro Colon. Wenn man es betritt, wird man fast erschlagen von der bombastischen Bauweise. Wir hatten Karten für eine argentinische Oper – "Die abwesende Stadt" – sehr modern – sehr beeindruckend – sehr gut besetzt - und saßen in der ersten Reihe! Die Geldbeschaffung in Buenos Aires ist leider auch mal wieder nicht ganz so einfach. Aber wir finden dann eine gute Lösung – in einem Weinhandel – nur muss man dann immer was probieren und auch kaufen – prost! Wir treffen uns hier wieder mit Pedro und Melissa – Pedro haben wir in Uyuni zum ersten Mal getroffen und auch unsere brasilianischen Freunde (auch das erste Mal in Uyuni getroffen und dann wieder in Bariloche) sind hier in der Stadt gelandet. Und dann trifft auch Jo hier ein – unsere Radlerin – zuerst in Costa Rica, in Panama, dann beim Segeltörn, und zuletzt in Medellin getroffen. Auch sie hat es geschafft! Herzlichen Glückwunsch! Es sind tolle Abende mit allen. Mit Jo gemeinsam löst Kai-Olaf an seinem Geburtstag dann noch sein Tangoversprechen ein! Wir haben zu dritt eine Stunde bei Martin – natürlich können wir jetzt immer noch nicht Tango tanzen, aber es hat total viel Spaß gemacht. Abends gehen wir dann noch in eine Tangoshow mit Dinner, um zu sehen wie es wirklich geht. Ist ein toller Abend! Und uns läuft in einer Galerie uns noch ein tolles Tanzbild über den Weg – für das wir zuhause noch einen passenden Platz finden müssen. Ihr könnt ja dann vorbeikommen und es besichtigen – wir sind ja bald wieder da! Den letzten Abend verbringen wir noch gemeinsam zu sechst in einem witzigen Lokal – es ist Restaurant und Flohmarkt – alles im Lokal kann man auch kaufen – es ist ein sehr schöner Abschluss! Jetzt können wir Euch dann leider nicht mehr auf dem laufenden halten … Domingo, 10.12.2023 Ahora nos toca dormir cinco veces más y luego embarcamos en el avión de vuelta a casa. Los días en Buenos Aires pasan volando. Visitamos muchos museos. La ESMA, que recuerda a la dictadura militar. Por desgracia, aquí se invierte poco dinero en estos momentos, así que ya no se puede entrar en algunos de los edificios y zonas de esta antigua escuela militar. Por lo demás, se pueden seguir los procedimientos judiciales y los testimonios en numerosas pantallas de vídeo. La organización es muy diferente a la de Santiago de Chile, por ejemplo, pero es un lugar muy importante para abordar esta terrible época. Y no importa de qué lado venga la dictadura - si de izquierdas o de derechas - ¡no debería volver a ocurrir en ningún sitio! Por desgracia, este es un deseo muy piadoso. Y nunca más es también una frase bastante gastada y pronunciada con rapidez. Buenos Aires tiene edificios grandilocuentes: el Teatro Colón es increíblemente grandilocuente. Cuando entras en él, te sientes casi abrumado por la ampulosa arquitectura. Teníamos entradas para una ópera argentina - la ciudad ausente - muy moderna - muy impresionante - muy buen reparto - ¡y nos sentamos en primera fila! Desgraciadamente, recaudar dinero en Buenos Aires tampoco es tan fácil. Pero encontramos una buena solución - en una tienda de vinos - pero entonces siempre hay que intentar comprar algo - ¡salud! Nos encontramos con Pedro y Melissa aquí de nuevo - nos encontramos con Pedro por primera vez en Uyuni y nuestros amigos brasileños (también se reunió por primera vez en Uyuni y luego de nuevo en Bariloche) también han aterrizado aquí en la ciudad. Y entonces Jo llega aquí también - nuestro ciclista - primero en Costa Rica, en Panamá, luego en el viaje en velero, y finalmente se reunió en Medellín. ¡Ella también lo logró! ¡Felicitaciones a ella! Grandes tardes con todos. Junto con Jo, Kai-Olaf cumple su promesa de bailar tango el día de su cumpleaños. Los tres tomamos una clase con Martin - por supuesto que todavía no sabemos bailar tango, pero fue muy divertido. Por la noche vamos a un espectáculo de tango con cena para ver cómo funciona realmente. Es una velada estupenda. Y en una galería encontramos un gran cuadro de baile, que aún no hemos encontrado un lugar adecuado en casa. Puedes venir a verlo, ¡volveremos pronto! Los seis pasamos la última noche juntos en un divertido pub, que es a la vez un restaurante y un mercadillo, donde se puede comprar de todo. Lamentablemente ahora no podemos mantenerte al día ... Sunday, 10.12.2023 Now it's time for us to sleep five more times and then we board the plane home. The days in Buenos Aires just fly by. We visited lots of museums. The ESMA - which is reminiscent of the military dictatorship. Otherwise, you can follow the court proceedings and testimonies on many video screens. We had tickets for an Argentinian opera - the absent city - very modern - very impressive - very well cast - and sat in the front row! Unfortunately, raising money in Buenos Aires is once again not that easy. But we find a good solution - in a wine shop - but then you always have to try and buy something - cheers! We meet up with Pedro and Melissa here again - we met Pedro for the first time in Uyuni and our Brazilian friends (also met for the first time in Uyuni and then again in Bariloche) have also landed here in the city. And then Jo arrives here too - our cyclist - first in Costa Rica, in Panama, then on the sailing trip, and finally met in Medellin. She made it too! Congratulations to her! The three of us have a lesson with Martin - of course we still can't dance tango now, but it was great fun. In the evening we go to a tango show with dinner to see how it really works. It's a great evening! And we come across a great dance painting in a gallery - we still have to find a suitable place for it at home. You can come round and see it - we'll be back soon! The six of us spend the last evening together in a fun pub - it's a restaurant and flea market - you can buy everything in the pub - it's a very nice end! Freitag, 01.12.2023 - Abschied Montevideo So heute Morgen geht es mit der Fähre nach Buenos Aires. Die Tage in Montevideo sind schnell vergangen – wir waren zweimal zu tollen Konzerten im Teatro Solis. Waren morgens fleißig an der Rambla joggen und haben uns schnell daran gewöhnt ein Zimmer mit Bad und Dusche zu haben – ist schon sehr praktisch! Wir haben die Stadt zu Fuß und mit dem Fahrrad erkundet, einen riesigen Flohmarkt über fast einen ganzen Stadtteil erlaufen und spannende Museen besucht. Das Museum der Moderne ist in einem altem Gefängnisbau, und Senor Torres Garcia hat ein sehr spannendes Bild gezeichnet – die Amerikas auf dem Kopf – Süden ist oben – sehr spannend – warum muss immer alles von Norden aus gesehen werden? Wir halten Euch auf dem laufenden aus Buenos Aires … Viernes, 01.12.2023 - adiós Montevideo Esta mañana tomamos el ferry a Buenos Aires. Los días en Montevideo pasaron rápido - fuimos a dos grandes conciertos en el Teatro Solís. Salimos a correr por la Rambla por la mañana y nos acostumbramos rápidamente a tener una habitación con baño y ducha, ¡es muy práctico! Exploramos la ciudad a pie y en bicicleta, paseamos por un enorme mercadillo que abarcaba casi todo un barrio y visitamos museos apasionantes. El Museo de Arte Moderno está en el edificio de una antigua cárcel, y el señor Torres García ha hecho un dibujo muy emocionante: las Américas al revés, el sur está arriba, muy emocionante, ¿por qué todo tiene que verse siempre desde el norte? Les mantendremos informados desde Buenos Aires... Friday, 01.12.2023 - farewell Montevideo So this morning we take the ferry to Buenos Aires. The days in Montevideo passed quickly - we went to two great concerts at the Teatro Solis. We went jogging on the Rambla in the morning and quickly got used to having a room with a bathroom and shower - it's very practical! We explored the city on foot and by bike, walked around a huge flea market covering almost an entire neighbourhood and visited exciting museums. The Museum of Modern Art is in an old prison building, and Senor Torres Garcia has drawn a very exciting picture - the Americas upside down - south is up - very exciting - why does everything always have to be seen from the north? We will keep you up to date from Buenos Aires ...
16.12.2023 – Ankunft in Aidlingen Am 15.12. fuhren wir zum Flughafen in Buenos Aires, bekamen leider nur die hintersten Plätze, ein schlechtes Essen und viele Turbulenzen. In Summe ein Flug ohne Begeisterung, so wie meine Stimmung. Um kurz nach 11.00 waren wir in Frankfurt, das Gepäck war komplett und Jan-Frederick stand mit ganz tollen Schildern und wartete auf uns. Es war kalt, es ist schon eine Umstellung von ca. 25 Grad auf nur noch 10 Grad. Ich war sehr gespannt auf die Veränderungen. So in mehr als einem Jahr muss doch die Welt und unsere Heimat anders aussehen, Baustellen müssen doch fertig sein. Leider wurde ich massiv enttäuscht. Die A81 ist immer noch nicht fertig, im Grunde sieht man keinen Fortschritt. Aber wir bekommen jetzt keinen Termin mehr bei den Ämtern ohne Online Anmeldung, und Termine gibt es nicht. Wir haben es trotzdem geschafft, ein Auto ist zugelassen, wir sind wieder mobil. Wir saßen dann noch bei den Nachbarn und haben viel geredet. Ach ja, unser Haus fühlt sich gut an. Es war aufgeräumt, gute Geister haben einen Weihnachtsbaum aufgestellt und wir fanden schnell die gewohnten Dinge. Danke an Euch alle. Und jetzt? Diese Reise ist zu Ende! Wir werden einige Vorträge halten und von unseren Erfahrungen berichten. Und! Nach der Reise ist vor der Reise! 16.12.2023 - Llegada a Aidlingen El 15 de diciembre viajamos al aeropuerto de Buenos Aires, lamentablemente sólo conseguimos los últimos asientos, una mala comida y muchas turbulencias. En definitiva, un vuelo sin entusiasmo, igual que mi estado de ánimo. Llegamos a Francfort poco después de las 11.00 horas, nuestro equipaje estaba completo y Jan-Frederick nos esperaba con grandes señas. Hacía frío, era todo un cambio pasar de unos 25 grados a sólo 10 grados. Estaba muy emocionada por los cambios. Dentro de más de un año, el mundo y nuestra casa deben tener otro aspecto, las obras deben estar terminadas. Por desgracia, me llevé una gran decepción. La autopista A81 aún no está terminada, básicamente no se ve ningún progreso. Pero ya no podemos conseguir una cita en las autoridades sin registrarnos en línea, y no hay citas. Aún así conseguimos matricular un coche, volvemos a tener movilidad. Después nos sentamos con los vecinos y hablamos mucho. Ah, sí, en nuestra casa se está bien. Estaba ordenada, los buenos espíritus habían puesto un árbol de Navidad y encontramos rápidamente las cosas de siempre. Gracias a todos. ¿Y ahora? Este viaje ha terminado. Daremos algunas charlas y contaremos nuestras experiencias. ¡Y después del viaje es antes del viaje! 16.12.2023 - Arrival in Aidlingen On 15 December we travelled to the airport in Buenos Aires, unfortunately we only got the last seats, a bad meal and a lot of turbulence. All in all, a flight without enthusiasm, just like my mood. We arrived in Frankfurt shortly after 11.00 a.m., our luggage was complete and Jan-Frederick was waiting for us with great signs. It was cold, it was quite a change from around 25 degrees to just 10 degrees. I was very excited about the changes. In more than a year's time, the world and our home must look different, building sites must be finished. Unfortunately, I was massively disappointed. The A81 motorway is still not finished, basically you can't see any progress. But we can no longer get an appointment at the authorities without registering online, and there are no appointments. We still managed to get a car registered, we are mobile again. We then sat with the neighbours and talked a lot. Oh yes, our house feels good. It was tidy, good spirits had put up a Christmas tree and we quickly found the usual things. Thanks to you all. And now? This trip is over! We will give a few talks and report on our experiences. 15.12.2023 – Abschied von Buenos Aires und unserer Reise Mehr als zwei Museen pro Tag geht nicht, das schaffe ich nicht. Die Museen sind groß, umfangreich, lehrreich, anstrengend und einfach nur schön. Es ging los mit dem Museum Bellas Artes https://www.bellasartes.gob.ar/, eine umfangreiche Kunstaustellung, mit vielen interessanten Geschichten dahinter; über die Familien hinter den Sammlungen, die Beziehungen der Künstler zu Argentinien, man muss soviel lesen um alles zu verstehen. Danach kam das MALBA (in zwei Etappen) https://www.malba.org.ar/, argentinische moderne Kunst. Hier sahen wir eine Ausstellung von Cecilia Vicuña aus Santiago de Chile wieder. Wir besuchten natürlich das kleine Auto Museum, das Museum Moderno https://museomoderno.org/ und das Museum Decorativo https://museoartedecorativo.cultura.gob.ar/, ein bombastisches Gebäude mit einer noch bombastischer Inneneinrichtung, der ehemalige Palast der Familie Josefina de Alvear und Matías Errázuriz Ortúzar seit 1936 im Besitz des Staates. Und dann waren wir noch im Museum des Erinnerns und der Menschenrechte Espacio Memoria y Derechos Humanos ex ESMA https://www.espaciomemoria.ar/. Leider lässt uns dieses Thema nicht los und ich musste viel an die Gefängnisse der DDR denken. Im Gegensatz zu Santiago und den anderen ist dieses Museum auf dem Gelände und in den Gebäuden der ehemaligen Haft- und Folteranstalten. Man kann auch das Flugzeug besichtigen mit dem die Gefangen aufs Meer geflogen und ins Meer gestoßen wurden. Wieder ein Beispiel für die Brutalität zu der wir Menschen fähig sind. Die Gewalt von den linken Organisationen wird zwar kurz angesprochen, aber nicht weiter betrachtet. Ein sehr aktuelles Thema in Argentinien und aufkommend auch in Chile. Die lückenlose Aufarbeitung der Gewalt der Vergangenheit ist noch nicht vollzogen, aber da gibt es auch andere Länder. Und so vergingen die Tage, Wein trinken, Geld jagen, Museen besuchen und wieder tanzen. Zum einem hatte Bettina wieder eine Ballettschule gefunden und genoss die Stunden, zum anderen hatten wir beide eine Tango Unterrichtsstunde. Ich mag Tango, der Tanz ist nicht so schnell und mit ein wenig Übung glaube ich die Grundschritte im Tanz auf der Tanzfläche zu bestehen. So ging es dem Tag unseres Abschiedes entgegen. Wir fuhren noch einmal nach La Boca https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Boca, genau zu den Boca Juniors https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Club_Atl%C3%A9tico_Boca_Juniors. Ich wollte noch einmal vor dem Stadion stehen und wir brauchten noch Trikots. Und fast hätte ich es vergessen. Ohne Bild geht es ja nicht. Wir hatten am Sonntag im Vorbeigehen eine Galerie entdeckt, die Bilder stellen Balletttänzer und Tanzbewegungen dar. Die Künstlerin war anwesend und nach einigen Tagen Bedenkzeit haben wir uns entschieden. Also noch schnell abholen und Fotos machen und dann ging es zu letzten Abend mit Melisa, Pedro, Jo und Ihrer Freundin. Wir gingen in das Restaurant Napoles https://www.instagram.com/napolesbar/?hl=en. Ich hatte schon Berichte in Deutschland gelesen, alles voller alten Dinge, vor allem alte Autos. Man kann alles kaufen, es ist im Grunde ein Antiquitätengeschäft mit einem Restaurant. Man sitzt direkt in den alten Dingen, nur wir hatten kein Geld und Platz mehr. … 15.12.2023 - Despedida de Buenos Aires y de nuestro viaje No puedo con más de dos museos por día. Los museos son grandes, extensos, educativos, agotadores y simplemente hermosos. Empezamos con el Museo de Bellas Artes https://www.bellasartes.gob.ar/, una extensa exposición de arte con un montón de historias interesantes detrás; sobre las familias detrás de las colecciones, las relaciones de los artistas con Argentina, hay que leer mucho para entenderlo todo. Luego vino el MALBA (en dos etapas) https://www.malba.org.ar/, arte moderno argentino. Aquí volvimos a ver una exposición de Cecilia Vicuña, de Santiago de Chile. Por supuesto visitamos el pequeño museo del automóvil, el Museo Moderno https://museomoderno.org/ y el Museo Decorativo https://museoartedecorativo.cultura.gob.ar/, un edificio rimbombante con un interior aún más rimbombante, el antiguo palacio de la familia Josefina de Alvear y Matías Errázuriz Ortúzar, propiedad del Estado desde 1936. Y luego visitamos el Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos Espacio Memoria y Derechos Humanos ex ESMA https://www.espaciomemoria.ar/. Lamentablemente, este tema sigue en nuestras mentes y tuve que pensar mucho en las cárceles de la RDA. A diferencia de Santiago y los demás, este museo se encuentra en los terrenos y edificios de los antiguos centros de detención y tortura. También se puede visitar el avión en el que los prisioneros eran arrojados al mar. Otro ejemplo de la brutalidad de la que somos capaces los seres humanos. La violencia ejercida por las organizaciones de izquierda se menciona brevemente, pero no se profundiza en ella. Un tema muy actual en Argentina y también emergente en Chile. El procesamiento completo de la violencia del pasado aún no se ha completado, pero hay otros países. Y así pasaron los días, bebiendo vino, persiguiendo dinero, visitando museos y bailando de nuevo. Por un lado, Bettina había vuelto a encontrar una escuela de ballet y disfrutaba de las clases, y por otro, las dos tomamos una clase de tango. Me gusta el tango, el baile no es tan rápido y con un poco de práctica creo que puedo manejar los pasos básicos en la pista de baile. Así que llegó el momento de despedirnos. Quería pararme frente al estadio una vez más y todavía nos faltaban camisetas. Y casi me olvido. No se puede hacer sin una foto. Habíamos descubierto una galería de paso el domingo, los cuadros representan bailarinas de ballet y movimientos de danza. El artista estaba allí y después de pensarlo unos días, nos decidimos. Así que rápidamente los recogimos y tomamos fotos y luego fuimos a nuestra última noche con Melisa, Pedro, Jo y su amiga. Fuimos al restaurante Napoles https://www.instagram.com/napolesbar/?hl=en. Ya había leído en Alemania que estaba lleno de cosas viejas, sobre todo coches viejos. Se puede comprar de todo, es básicamente una tienda de antigüedades con restaurante. Te sientas justo en las cosas viejas, solo que no teniamos mas dinero ni espacio. ,,, 15.12.2023 - Farewell to Buenos Aires and our trip I can't manage more than two museums a day. The museums are large, extensive, educational, exhausting and simply beautiful. We started with the Bellas Artes Museum https://www.bellasartes.gob.ar/, an extensive art exhibition with lots of interesting stories behind it; about the families behind the collections, the artists' relationships with Argentina, you have to read so much to understand everything. Unfortunately, this topic is still on our minds and I had to think a lot about the prisons in the GDR. In contrast to Santiago and the others, this museum is on the grounds and in the buildings of the former detention and torture centres. You can also visit the aeroplane in which the prisoners were flown out to sea and pushed into the ocean. Another example of the brutality we humans are capable of. The violence perpetrated by the left-wing organisations is briefly mentioned, but not considered any further. A very topical issue in Argentina and also emerging in Chile. The violence of the past has not yet been fully dealt with, but there are other countries. And so the days passed, drinking wine, chasing money, visiting museums and dancing again. On the one hand, Bettina had found a ballet school again and enjoyed the lessons, and on the other, we both had a tango lesson. 8.12.2023 Wir haben zwei Termine in der Oper. Mit Joa werden wir eine Führung durch das Opernhaus machen und dann haben wir noch eine Aufführung der argentinischen Oper „Die abwesende Stadt“. Eine moderne Oper beeindruckend aufgeführt und eine traurige Geschichte, wie es sich für eine Oper gehört. „eine Frau stirbt, der sie liebende Mann macht sie mit der Hilfe von einem Ingenieur unsterblich n einer Maschine und damit einsam als dann der Mann stirbt“. https://teatrocolon.org.ar/en/node/5481. Die Geschichte basiert auf einem Roman, den ich mir gleich bestellt habe. Ich bis sehr neugierig. Wir saßen in der ersten Reihe und wie immer sind die Karten im Vergleich zu Europa sehr günstig. Joa nos llevará a una visita guiada por el teatro de la ópera y después tenemos una representación de la ópera argentina "La ciudad ausente". Una ópera moderna impresionante y una historia triste, como corresponde a una ópera. La historia está basada en una novela, que pedí enseguida. Tenía mucha curiosidad. Nos sentamos en primera fila y, como siempre, las entradas son muy baratas en comparación con Europa. 1.12.2023 4 Stunden Fahrt mit dem Boot, von Montevideo nach Buenos Aires. Leider war das Wetter schlecht, Regen und wenig Sicht. Und dann ging es ins Selina Hostel. Wir haben uns schon sehr auf die letzten Tage im Selina gefreut. Das Hostel liegt im Stadtteil Palermo, ein hipper und angesagter Stadtteil. Was für eine Freude, Pedro und Melisa wohnen gleich um die Ecke und so ging es am Abend in ein netter Restaurant mit guter Jazz Musik und wir haben viel geredet. Großes Thema war natürlich die Politik, die Amtseinführung von dem neuen Präsidenten Milei steht am Wochenende bevor. 14 Tage Buenos Aires sind zu wenig, die Stadt hat soviel zu bieten, aber erst einmal mussten wir wieder Geld „jagen“ gehen. Wir haben dann die ultimative Version gefunden. Bei uns um die Ecke gibt es eine schöne Weinhandlung, teuer aber gut. Bezahlen mit Dollar geht und Wechseln geht auch. Also werden wir in den nächsten Tagen Wein trinken und Geld wechseln. Dann sind wir am Sonntag in die Stadt gefahren um ein wenig an den Feierlichkeiten teilzunehmen. Ich hatte mit Protest gerechnet, aber es war sehr ruhig, die Menschen schwenkten viele Fahnen. In Summe spürten wir eine gewisse Erwartungshaltung und gleichzeitig im alternativen Viertel eine Gleichgültigkeit. Aber natürlich war es ein Thema in allen Gesprächen und alle erwarten viel vom neuen Präsidenten. Wir haben zwei Wochen Zeit die Stadt zu erkunden. Wir sind mit vielen verabredet und haben schon jetzt ein volles Programm. Bustour durch die Stadt, Museen, Restaurants und einfach durch die Stadt bummeln. Uns wird nicht langweilig werden. 4 horas de viaje en barco desde Montevideo a Buenos Aires. Lamentablemente el tiempo era malo, lluvia y poca visibilidad. Luego fuimos al albergue Selina. Teníamos muchas ganas de pasar los últimos días en Selina. El albergue está situado en el barrio de Palermo, un barrio de moda. Qué placer, Pedro y Melisa viven a la vuelta de la esquina, así que por la noche fuimos a un bonito restaurante con buena música de jazz y hablamos mucho. El tema principal fue, por supuesto, la política, ya que el fin de semana se celebra la toma de posesión del nuevo Presidente Milei. 14 días en Buenos Aires no son suficientes, la ciudad tiene mucho que ofrecer, pero primero tuvimos que volver a "cazar" dinero. Entonces encontramos la versión definitiva. Hay una bonita vinoteca a la vuelta de la esquina, cara pero buena. Se puede pagar con dólares y también se puede cambiar. No nos aburriremos. 4 hour boat journey from Montevideo to Buenos Aires. Unfortunately the weather was bad, rain and poor visibility. And then we went to the Selina Hostel. We were really looking forward to the last few days at Selina. The hostel is located in the Palermo district, a hip and trendy neighbourhood. What a pleasure, Pedro and Melisa live just round the corner and so in the evening we went to a nice restaurant with good jazz music and talked a lot. The big topic was of course politics, the inauguration of the new President Milei is coming up at the weekend. 14 days in Buenos Aires are not enough, the city has so much to offer, but first we had to go "hunting" for money again. We then found the ultimate version. There is a nice wine shop round the corner from us, expensive but good. You can pay with dollars and change is also possible. So we'll be drinking wine and changing money over the next few days. Then we went into town on Sunday to take part in the celebrations. I had expected protests, but it was very quiet and people were waving lots of flags. All in all, we sensed a certain expectation and at the same time an indifference in the alternative neighbourhood. But of course it was a topic of conversation and everyone expects a lot from the new president. We have two weeks to explore the city. We have appointments with many people and already have a full programme. A bus tour through the city, museums, restaurants and simply strolling through the city. We won't be bored.
9.12.2023 – wie ist das eigentlich mit der Nachhaltigkeit liebe Jugend? Ich bin ein alter weißer Mann und damit das Feindbild der aktuellen woken Gesellschaft. Das möchte ich gar nicht sein, aber vermutlich werde ich so gesehen. Und am Ende von diesen Beitrag mit Sicherheit erst recht. Wir wohnen in Buenos Aires im Selina Hostel. Eine nette Hostel Kette, die wir schon mehrfach besucht haben. Viele junge Menschen, eine ungezwungene Atmosphäre und ein guter Service zu einem vernünftigen Preis. Für uns von großen Vorteil ist die Gemeinschaftsküche, gute Geräte, genügend Kühlschränke und Platz für alle. Soweit klingt das alles toll, wenn nur nicht das Problem mit der Sauberkeit und den Essensresten wäre. Der alte weiße Mann hat die Welt zerstört und damit der Jugend die Lebensgrundlage entzogen, so die Meinung vieler. Ist es wirklich so? Ich sehe das anders. Durch Verschmutzung, nachlässige Handhabung, Essensreste und so weiter wird die gute Küche so nach und nach zerstört. Was kümmert mich der Dreck und mein Nachbar, so erscheint mir die Einstellung. Im Kühlschrank leben die Essenreste, die zugehörigen Gäste sind vermutlich schon im nächsten Hostel. Macht ja nichts, weil die netten Menschen vom Service werden das schon richten. Sollen doch froh sein, dass sie einen Job haben. So gesehen ist das Zusammenleben in Hostels oder auch auf den Campingplätzen mit Euch Jungen immer etwas zwiespältig. Auf der einen Seite sind die Gespräch sehr gut und anregend, aber mit der Nachhaltigkeit steht ihr noch auf Kriegsfuß. Denkt mal bitte darüber nach, Ordnung und Sauberkeit und vor allem keine Verschwendung ist der beste Weg zu einer besseren Welt. 9 de diciembre de 2023: ¿cómo es realmente la sostenibilidad, queridos jóvenes? Soy un anciano blanco y, por tanto, el enemigo de la actual sociedad despierta. No quiero ser así, pero probablemente me vean así. Y ciertamente aún más al final de este post. Vivimos en Buenos Aires en el Selina Hostel. Una bonita cadena de albergues que hemos visitado varias veces. Mucha gente joven, ambiente informal y buen servicio a un precio razonable. Una gran ventaja para nosotros es la cocina compartida, buenos electrodomésticos, suficientes frigoríficos y espacio para todos. Todo suena genial hasta ahora, si no existieran los problemas con la limpieza y los restos de comida. Según muchos, el anciano blanco destruyó el mundo y así privó a los jóvenes de su sustento. ¿Es realmente así? Yo lo veo diferente. La buena cocina se va destruyendo poco a poco por la contaminación, la manipulación descuidada, los restos de comida, etc. ¿Por qué me importa la suciedad y mi prójimo? Así lo veo yo. Los restos de comida se guardan en el frigorífico y los huéspedes probablemente ya estén en el siguiente albergue. No importa, porque la amable gente del servicio lo solucionará. Deberían estar felices de tener un trabajo. Visto así, convivir con vosotros en albergues o campings siempre resulta un poco ambivalente. Por un lado, los debates son muy buenos y estimulantes, pero todavía estamos en desacuerdo con la sostenibilidad. Por favor piénsalo, el orden y la limpieza y sobre todo el no desperdicio es el mejor camino hacia un mundo mejor. December 9th, 2023 – what is sustainability actually like, dear youth? I am an old white man and therefore the enemy of the current woke society. I don't want to be that, but I'll probably be seen that way. And certainly even more so at the end of this post. We live in Buenos Aires at the Selina Hostel. A nice hostel chain that we have visited several times. Lots of young people, a casual atmosphere and good service at a reasonable price. A big advantage for us is the shared kitchen, good appliances, enough refrigerators and space for everyone. It all sounds great so far, if only there weren't the problems with cleanliness and leftover food. According to many, the old white man destroyed the world and thereby deprived the youth of their livelihood. Is it really like that? I see it differently. Good cuisine is gradually destroyed by pollution, careless handling, leftover food and so on. Why do I care about the dirt and my neighbor? That's how I see it. The leftover food lives in the fridge and the guests are probably already in the next hostel. It doesn't matter, because the nice people in service will sort it out. They should be happy that they have a job. Seen this way, living together in hostels or on campsites with you boys is always a bit ambivalent. On the one hand, the discussions are very good and stimulating, but you are still at loggerheads with sustainability. Please think about it, order and cleanliness and above all no waste is the best way to a better world.
